Our Story
Studio Background
jSe Pottery has been a growing small business since 2018. It all started in a small one car garage, which moved into a 10x10 room in an apartment once it got cold. After using every square inch of that 10 x 10 room in their apartment, the studio since made its move with Jessie and her husband, Daniel, to their barn on their new homestead in Goshen, Indiana! Jessie came to love working with clay in undergrad and it was there that she sold her first 18 piece place setting. Taking a 2.5 year break while pursuing her masters in Art Therapy, she found her passion continue to grow while apart from the creative process. After graduation, she then stepped gradually into making and selling her own items, while balancing out her part time career as an art therapist at a local neuroscience facility. Its our dream to grow the unique bank barn studio into a space that Jessie can continue to make and sell, and where she can welcome people to learn from scratch or rent studio space!

The Future We See
Making things.
With a larger space comes larger possibilities. Jessie has grown her wheelhouse of what she has offered over the years in her small studio, to traveling to homes, and churches for workshops. With this new barn studio jSe Pottery wishes to be the barn that offers the following: The personal studio of Jessie's to continue to make and sell, a place to come and take classes, and a place to come and make your art at your own pace. While Jessie is dedicated to producing her own art, she's also devoted to bringing the creativity out of her visitors. Offering classes to adults, teens and children in both group settings and private lessons, there’s something for anyone looking to foster their God given creativity. We strive to provide a safe space for people seeking a unique, fun, and relaxing one time or ongoing experience.

Potter, Teacher, Host
Hey guys!
As you might have figured out already, I love pottery. I actually love creativity of all kinds and I just choose to focus that love into my own use of clay. I double majored in both art and psychology in undergrad and pursued my masters degree in art therapy. My appreciation of creativity and human development fuels my desire to make things. I believe we were created by the Master Creator to create. In that, creativity is in our very framework, believe it or not. If you've followed along on social media at all, you'd find that I love the story and functionality that can coexist in each piece I make. I also deeply resonate with the therapeutic experience that the creative process brings. While creating, there is the story of the product, and there is also a story within us in relation to however the process goes. I like to think about that more some days than others. Anyways, I love meeting new people and hospitality is one of my passions. So, hello, hey, welcome! Im glad you're here and I cant wait to meet you if I haven't already.
Creatively,
Jessie
